On my desk, I keep a stack of brown cardstock sheets, cut into quarters from standard paper. Whenever inspiration strikes, I reach for one to doodle on. I chose brown paper because it reminds me of drawing on a paper bag—simple and unpretentious. There's no pressure to “make art” because these little drawings could easily be discarded and would never be mistaken for a formal work of ART.
