It was the band's final album before their breakup in October 1983 and marked a shift from their horror punk roots to a more aggressive hardcore punk and proto-thrash sound. The album became highly influential in extreme punk and metal circles, with bands like Metallica covering "Green Hell" and "Die, Die My Darling."
